Tracing side of cabinetI created a template with 1/8" hardboard then traced the pattern on the particle board

Preparing to cut the sideUsing a straight edge I prepare to cut a line on outline of the cabinet side. I actually have two pieces of 5/8" thick particle board screwed together; so when I cut the side of the cabinet I am actually cuting both sides at the same time.

My 6 year old (at the time) son said "Daddy smile for a picture" so I did.

Starting to asseble the cabinetStarting the assembly of the cabinet, it now has the laminate sides and control panel.

Completed MAME cabinetThe completed cabinet. I ordered the bezel and marquee art from an Ebay seller, molding from t-mold.com and all arcade controls from Happ Controls. The computer was originally a Gateway PIII now is a Dell GX260 P4 2.0Ghz plenty of power to play my favorite classic 80's games. I am using a JPAC card from UltiMarc.com to interface the arcade controls to the computer. I am also using a front end menu system called MameWAH - a very nice FE.

Playing the finished gameMy daughter plays the mini MAME arcade game. BTW the height of the control panel is the same height as the control panel on cocktail arcade cabinets so when I want to play, I simply pull up a chair and play very comfortably!
